Swimming Courses and Dry Sport Courses run through school term time, usually for 6 weeks.
All courses can be booked 2 weeks prior to their start date.

Courses for Adults
Swimming - It's always a little daunting to learn to swim as an adult. Our swimming teachers will start you on your journey by giving you confidence in the water in our small teaching pool, then moving at your own pace to learning swimming and breathing techniques. Progressing into Adult Improvers, you will gain the ability to swim on your front and back and be ready to take on the rest of the family.

NPLQ - Lifeguard Course
Ready to take on a new challenge - start a new career - or just to achieve something new? Our in-house Lifeguard courses will take you through the techniques of all aspects of pool life-saving - You will need to be able to swim 50m on your front and back before you can join a course. Register your interest with our Training Officer and we will let you know when the next course will start. |

Ski Instructor Training
Why not become an instructor yourself. Once you have the basic parallel ski skills, working with our instructors you can gain the time and skills needed to be put through to assessment. Ask for details at the Ski Centre. |
Courses for Juniors
Swimming - The Sports Centre guides you through a 'Journey through Aquatics', with the National Plan for Teaching Swimming. From Swim a Song and Ducklings, through stages 1 - 7, children from as young as 6 months will build confidence in the water and move through the journey learning and developing skills. Children will move through the stages at their own pace, and parents will be given feedback on their progress, from the instructors.
Sports - Children as young as 2 years enjoy minimovers gymnastics and mini trampoline. Once they start school they can continue their progression through the levels, learning more skills and improving as they work through the national governing bodies' syllabus.
Our adult Squash Team Coaches work with young people from the age of 8 - 16, teaching the basic skills of Squash and encouraging growth and improvement. An exciting game to take up.
Ski courses for Juniors every Saturday teach young people the basics, and help them to improve their skills ready to move into the Ski Race Club if they wish.
