Duty Manager

About the role
You will share our passion for excellent customer service and be responsible for the smooth running of our Sports Centre. As a Duty Manager you will:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the centre.
  • Oversee Health and Safety and resolve issues as quickly and efficiently as possible.
  • Lead by example and maintain quality standards throughout.

The person
As a successful candidate, you will need:

  • A proven track record of excellent customer service skill.
  • To be a quick learner, able to transition into the role swiftly.
  • To be enthusiastic, have superb communication skills, collaborative spirit as well as a ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Good knowledge of Health and Safety, and ideally hold a First Aid at Work qualification.

Lifeguard

Multiple Part-Time Positions Available

What you Need…
A National Pool Lifeguard (NPLQ) qualification.
A friendly, calm, and approachable nature.
Attention to detail.
You act safely, knowing the importance of completing safety checks and recording them accurately
Confidence in your ability to keep our swimmers safe and happy.

Key Tasks:
Maintain a concentrated observation of the pool and pool users.
Observing all RLSS requirements.
Ensuring the safety of customers and other team members.
Carry out rescues and initiate emergency action where necessary.
Report all potential accidents.
Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the pool and associated areas.
Inspect toilets and changing areas as and when required.

Party Leader

Folkestone Sports Centre is seeking a Children’s Party Leader to help run our birthday parties on weekends and during school holidays.

The ideal candidate must be available to work weekends, occasional weekdays, and during school term breaks.

Main duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist customers entering the centre.
  • Prepare Children for their party.
  • Explain all safety rules to parents/guardians prior to the party.
  • Complete activities in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with sports and games.
  • Responsible for setting up, cleaning up party areas.
  • Adhere to a strict timing schedule.
  • Serve food, drinks, and cake to party guests.
  • Provide an exceptional experience to the child and all parents and guests.
  • Always perform his/her job in a friendly and enthusiastic manner.
  • Promptly inform the Party Manager of any and all customer complaints or comments.
  • Inform Party Manager immediately of product shortages.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the Party Manager.

Job requirements:

  • Must be available to work weekends and during school holidays.
  • Must be outgoing, friendly, and enjoy working with children.
  • Prior experience as a camp leader or party host is advantageous but not essential.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly with managers and customers.
  • Experience in children’s sports will be a distinct advantage.

Apprentice Sports Community Activator Coach

The Role
As an Apprentice Sports Community Activator Coach, you will be a part of a growing department working with young people, delivering a variety of sports and fun activities to the community.
The successful applicant will be employed by the Trust for the duration of the course, which will be typically 12 – 15 months, with the potential of joining the team on a permanent basis after qualification.
During training, an apprentice will be employed for 30 hours per week which includes time for coursework.

Fitness Instructor

Part-time: Weekends and Holiday Cover
As a Fitness Instructor, you will be an enthusiastic individual who can deliver an excellent level of service to all of our members.

Main duties:

  • Carrying out fitness assessments, consultations, and inductions with new clients.
  • Supervising clients to make sure that they are exercising safely and effectively.
  • Ensure the gyms are kept clean and tidy.
  • Ensure health & safety procedures are being followed.
  • Lead fitness classes.
  • Excellent customer service.

The successful Fitness Instructor will have:

  • Level 2 qualified in Fitness Instructing
